(PERI-)MENOPAUSEand everything related to it!

Many people (including doctors) still think that the menopause only manifests itself in the form of hot flushes or sleep disorders and that you just have to “sit it out” or ignore it.

Yet the menopause is so much more than sweating and lying awake - it marks the point at which our body produces little or no oestrogen (and progesterone), and this has far-reaching consequences:

In the long term, oestrogen deficiency leads to an increased rate of cardiovascular disease, increases the risk of diabetes, bowel cancer, dementia and, above all, osteoporosis. It can increase our blood lipid levels and ensures that we store unhealthy, so-called visceral fat, which is independent of our weight and the amount of calories we consume.

Hormone deficiency during menopause can also lead to pronounced mood swings, weight gain, concentration problems, joint problems and (urinary) incontinence.

And hormone deficiency symptoms by no means only affect women who no longer have periods.
